We also have lettuce straight from the aquaponics!

Strawberries are turning red and we hope to have plenty by the end of the week.

Arugula and Kale are growing quickly and should have some for picking real soon!

This Week at Love's Farm 5/21

Almost everything has been planted, aquaponics is up and running, and our ducks have names!

Our strawberries are coming in nicely. Hoping to have lots ready next month! We have them growing in the garden and in the aquaponics!

We have planted:

  • Tomatoes
  • Potatoes
  • Strawberries
  • TONS of peppers- ALL kinds
  • Lettuce
  • Arugula
  • A few types of spinach
  • Broccoli
  • Cucumbers
  • Yellow squash
  • Zucchini
  • Herbs
  • Celery
  • Horseradish
  • Eggplants- several kinds
  • Onions
  • Kale

We have already enjoyed lettuce from the aquaponics!

We still have eggs for sharing. Remember, take what you want and give if you can or what you can. Donations welcome but we are happy to GIVE! Any donations just help keep things running around here.

Our ducks have names! We are 99.9% they are both girls! We went ahead and named them....Daisy Rey and Mary Jane. They explored the garden for the first time yesterday.

Our mission here is to share what we have with others and to spread the love of Jesus. All of our eggs and produce that we give has this included with them:

"In November of 2014 our family was abundantly blessed when we purchased our dream property. It has been our desire since to use all God has given us to share with others. We know the joy that comes from knowing the Lord and His love for us, and want nothing more than to share that with others. We hope to share our food, but more importantly God’s love. We pray that you will be physically and spiritually nourished by our food.
If you would like to know more about Jesus and His love for you, please ask us. We would be honored to pray for you!

God loves you:
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life," (John 3:16).
Man is sinful and separated from God.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," (Rom. 3:23). "For the wages of sin is death," (Rom. 6:23). "But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God," (Isaiah 59:2).
Jesus Christ is God's only provision for man's sin.
"I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me," (John 14:6). "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us," (Rom. 5:8).
We must individually receive Jesus as Savior and Lord.
"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name," (John 1:12). "If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved," (Rom. 10:9). "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God," (Eph. 2:8).

Farm Fresh EGGS

We have an abundance of eggs! If you need some, we are happy to set aside a dozen or two or more! Everything is for sharing and if you want to give a donation, that is fine, but please remember...just take what you need, give what you can.

Please share with anyone in need too!

We are also busy as get ready to plant this weekend. We pray for an abundance of veggies this summer. We hope to set up a small stand in front of our house once a week to get the word out- Love's Farm. Take What You Need. Give What You Can.

Every carton of eggs or bag of produce from Love's Farm will include this note:
"In November of 2014 our family was abundantly blessed when we purchased our dream property. It has been our desire since to use all God has given us to share with others. Ducks

The ducks are almost ready to move outside permanently. They spend their nights in our garage still, but during the day they happily swim and bask in the sun (or rain, this week!)

We had a sad week this week. Our beloved Golden Laced Wyandotte died. She had a prolapse. We will miss this sweet little girl. She was our "bonus" chicken when we ordered from the hatchery.

The ducks are growing! They have spent their days outside in the new pen. Evenings are still in the garage to stay safe and warm.

Soil Pod Recipe

Soil Pod Recipe

Quick and easy soil recipe for the Soil Pod Press that we made in our first video. This is a down and dirty soil recipe that is based off of Eliot Coleman's recipe. Also in the beginning of the video I discuss some changes to the soil pod maker itself. After pressing a bunch of soil blocks, I made some changes to the soil press that will make it a bit easier to use.
